More than a year and a half later, Mount Cavalry Baptist church broke ground today on the construction of their new sanctuary which was destroyed by a fire in December 2010.
It was cold evening but I remained warm because of the heat being emitted from such a large fire. I remember anticipating the collapse of the church’s steeple, something I had hoped to capture for it’s symbolic significance. The steeple never fell, which turned out to be even more symbolic than if it had.
